Traveling half-way around the world to a place where you do not know anyone, the language or the culture, and immediately finding yourself among friends with whom you share the most important things in life: your compassion for people, your love for God, and your desire to worship Him and bring those in need to Him in prayer for salvation.
Imagine! Being taken under the wing of a group of people knowledgeable and skilled about all the complexities and pitfalls of international travel and cultural adjustment so that your paths to several destinations is made smooth and painless. They are willing to prepare you for what is ahead and help you to readjust when you return.
Imagine! Being encouraged to take off for a prolonged period from your job and life by family, friends and coworkers and being supported all the way by their prayers.
Imagine! Praying for spiritual renewal and new friends to offer deep spiritual encouragement, and having your prayers answered.
Imagine! Meeting a people group you did not know exist in such a way that your heart is moved beyond bearing as you desire to help them in their difficult and unbearable situation.
Imagine! Meeting an endless stream of people from all over the world who have committed their lives helping to bring the Word of God to the disadvantaged, the poor, the exploited, the disenfranchised, the helpless, whatever the cost to themselves, so that these people might know the freedom available to all through Christ.
Unimaginable! But thanks to Debbie, the unimaginable was made possible for myself, and Sherry and Beth on our recent trip to the Philippines and Thailand."
